Tail Pulley Properties

Tail Configuration - Different pulley arrangements can be selected for the tail configuration.

  • Drive - Where the drive motor is installed at the tail end.
  • Drive and Snubber - Where the drive is installed at the tail end and a snub pulley is added to increase the belt's wrap angle.
  • Pulley - Where only a pulley is installed at the tail end.
  • Pulley and Snubber - Where a pulley and snub pulley are installed at the tail end.

Tail Pulley Diameter - The diameter the tail pulley can be independently sized.

Tail Snubber Pulley Diameter - The diameter of the tail snubber pulley can be independently sized.

Tail Wrap Angle - The Wrap Angle is defined by the circumference distance the belt is in contact with the pulley, from the point the belt makes contact on the pulley to the point it leaves the pulley The Wrap Angle can only be defined if a snubber with the pulley or the drive is selected. A Snub Pulley is therefore always necessary if the angle needs to be greater than 180 deg. A greater angle of wrap provided more grip area and therefore increases the tension in the belt.

Tail Snubber Pulley Offset - The distance from the center of the pulley or the drive to the center of the snub pulley. With the Return Offset this defines the angle of wrap around the pulley.

Tail Transition Length - The distance from the center of the pulley or the drive to the center of the snub pulley. With the Return Offset this defines the angle of wrap around the pulley.

Tail Extension Distance - The distance between the center of the tail pulley and the snap point. The snap point is what is used to snap the load point of the conveyor to a feed point of a transfer component.
